Sul Park reflects on the abstract language of nature, visualizing the forms and traces she encounters within it. Her work begins with the memories accumulated by nature through continuous cycles of creation and disappearance.
The traces left by light and darkness, wind and water seep into the paper through layered gradations of ink, like sedimentary layers, revealing invisible layers of time. Rather than reproducing the forms of nature as they are, the artist observes nature slowly and attentively, paring them down and creating empty spaces to look beyond the visible forms before her.
This program is presented in collaboration with Horanggasy Creative Studio and takes place at Horanggasy Art Polygon. We invite you to join us for a closer look into Sul Park’s practice, together with critic Ki Heykyung.
