[*About the Artist]
Park Chiho was born and raised in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do. After spending a brief period studying in Seoul, he returned to his hometown, where he continues to live by the sea. His works are deeply rooted in a life philosophy shaped by this embodied experience.
In recent years, his artworks have primarily depicted grand human forms, conveying a sense of life’s profound narratives. His “Big Man” series portrays monumental human figures that symbolize the dignity and struggle of everyday life. In the “Oblivion” series, the facial features of figures are intentionally blurred or erased, evoking themes of memory and loss. The “Torso” series focuses on the human body, continuing his philosophical exploration of human existence.
Park has held 11 solo exhibitions and participated in over 200 group exhibitions both in Korea and internationally, maintaining an active presence in the art world.
