Events·Programs
<GB Artist Focus> is a monthly program that offers the opportunity to meet artists in person and engage in conversations to better understand their practice and artistic vision.
The program is organized in collaboration with cultural and art spaces across Gwangju.
The fourth featured artist, KIM-SHIN Yunju, has been actively practicing public art centered on climate justice, degrowth, and solidarity with marginalized communities. Join her in a dialogue with curator Sungwoo Kim (Primary Practice) to explore how caring, collective art can become a catalyst for social transformation.

[*About the Artist]
KIM-SHIN Yunju is an artist who visualizes collective sentiments around pressing social issues through public art projects in which citizens and communities participate as co-creators. Her representative work, One Heart Project, invites participants to stitch their feelings onto pieces of fabric, which are then assembled into monument-like installations—offering a shared experience of “art as event” and proposing new forms of social space.
She is currently based between New York and Gwangju, with recent projects focusing on ecological themes. Major exhibitions include We Dream of an Oak Revolution (2024, Gwangju Biennale Pavilion, Gwangju), Resonance (2022, Tongyeong Triennale, Tongyeong), and Genuine (2017, Asia Culture Center, Gwangju), among others.
