Jeong Deokyong has long asked whether it is possible to understand another being, attending to the moment when the effort to understand someone else turns back into a way of seeing oneself.
The solo exhibition "Through Which Breath Will It Come to Me" begins from the idea that to feel someone's breath, one must come that close. Moving through love and hatred, and the bodily memory and care inherited from one's parents, it asks how we might live by caring for one another. This session traces the path of the artist's work leading up to the exhibition, and the meanings that everyday, seemingly trivial materials came to hold at each stage.
The program is organized in collaboration with D.A.Aura, and the event will be held at GODO Collective. Together with critic Kim Sung Woo, the afternoon offers a closer look into Jeong Deokyong's practice.
